Floating Production, Storage and Offloading System

An FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) is a floating production system that receives the fluid from the reservoir via a turret-mounted swivel, separates the fluid to oil, gas and water by production facilities, stores the crude oil in the vessel's tanks and periodically offloads the crude to shuttle tankers. FPSOs are the most widely used floating production systems for offshore oil and gas field development and currently approximately 150 FPSOs are in operation worldwide.
